What this policy covers

This policy describes how fancer.health collects and uses information on this website (fancer.health) and through our newsletter, which is hosted on Ghost.

Our patient-facing app is still in development. A separate, more detailed privacy policy will govern the app and will be published before the app launches and before it collects any health-related information.

When the app launches

Fancer.health is building a patient-facing app. When it launches, a separate privacy policy will govern the information you give it, including any health information you choose to share. Some commitments will carry over from day one and will never change:

• We will never sell your health data. Not to anyone. Not for any price.
• We will never share it with pharmaceutical companies for marketing purposes.
• We will never run third-party advertising against it.
• You will always be able to delete your data at any time, for any reason.
• Anything you give us will be governed by HIPAA-compliant infrastructure from day one.

That foundation is non-negotiable. If we ever pursue research partnerships with academic medical centers (using only de-identified, aggregated data under independent ethical oversight), participation will be opt-in, explicit, and revocable. We will tell you exactly what that means before asking. The default is your data stays with you.

What we collect

• Your email address. When you join our waitlist or subscribe to our newsletter.
• Basic website logs. Our hosting provider records standard server information as part of normal website operation, including IP address, browser type, and pages requested. These logs are retained according to our provider's standard policies.

How we use it

We use your email address to:

• Notify you when fancer.health is available
• Send you our newsletter
• Occasionally share product updates, founder notes, and writing we think you'd want to read

That is the complete list.

Who we share your information with

Nobody we don't have to. We do not sell your email address or any other information. We do not share your information with pharmaceutical companies, advertisers, or any other third party for marketing purposes.

Two service providers help us run the site and the newsletter. They process information on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies:

• Ghost hosts our newsletter and stores subscriber email addresses. See ghost.org/privacy.
• Netlify hosts the fancer.health website. See netlify.com/privacy.

We will disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order. If that ever happens and we are legally permitted to tell you, we will.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link at the bottom of every email
• Delete your information by emailing hello@fancer.health and asking us to
• Request a copy of the information we hold about you, the same way

We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

The fancer.health website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The Ghost signup form on our site may set functional cookies necessary for the form to work. We do not use analytics cookies that track you across other sites.

Children

fancer.health is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make substantive changes to this policy, we will update the effective date below. For material changes that affect how we use information we already have, we will notify subscribers by email.
